Body hair removal is a common practice among people of various cultures since the early centuries. There are many different reasons why cultures and countries have been removing body hair. It can be due to medical or aesthetic reasons.

Being hairy all over may also denote masculinity. Most people will find you untidy or unpleasant if you're a woman with lots of body hair. During the capture of Jews by the Nazis, the Jews' hair were shaved off prior to their extermination. The Jews, especially the men, keep their beards long because they consider it as part of their culture and religious belief.

Body hair removal in the recent years seem to be focused on aesthetic reasons. This is the reason why you'll see many salons that offer various hair removal procedures. Always ensure your safety when choosing the right procedure/treatment, whichever your reason may be.
